I encourage the children to practice the skills learned once the class has ended. This helps to reinforce the lessons learned.Class Experience
Using excellent table manners and showing respect and courtesy for other diners are important life skills. Take your child's dining know-how to the next level with this fun and interactive class that promotes skills that are important when dining in and outside of the home. Slides, videos to demonstrate, and discussion will be used to teach the lessons. Children will learn to: • Properly set a basic table (a brief review from Dining Dynamos 1). • Identify items used in a formal table setting (which fork is for the salad, etc.). • Politely order a meal and interact with waitstaff at a restaurant or other venue. • Correctly place utensils/napkin during and after a meal. • Make polite conversation. Children are welcome to dress fancy for this class. Note: It is not required for learners to complete Dining Dynamos 1 first, but it can be helpful. Basic table setting items are ideal to have for this class. Please see the supply list. We will focus on dining practices frequently used in the United States.

Hi! It's lovely to meet you. I am Ms. Nicki and I am excited to offer my communications and social skills classes on Outschool.
I come from a long line of teachers and greatly value the role of education in the development of young people. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology. I am certified as an etiquette consultant through The Protocol School of Palm Beach. I have served as a Sunday School teacher to young children. I also have a wealth of experience working with students of all ages - from elementary through college! My professional experience includes over 20 years in college administration helping students realize their potential.
I am a firm believer in the importance of children learning good manners and social skills. These skills help children to meet and greet others, make friends, make a positive impression, and build their confidence in various social situations. I have taught both in-person and virtual social skills classes in my community. My goal is for children to learn in a manner that is informative, highly interactive, and FUN!
I am a mom of two fun-loving girls. One is in middle school and the other is in high school.
I love running, drinking mochas (yum!), and especially traveling. It's so exciting to explore new places and meet new people.
I am a highly enthusiastic, positive, and fun teacher. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your learner!
Sincerely,
Ms. Nicki
