Class Overview: Dive into the exciting world of Dimensional Drafting, a card game designed to spark creativity, enhance math skills, and foster strategic thinking in children. In this class, learners will embark on a journey through various universes, from Disney to Minecraft, collecting cards, completing sets, and outsmarting opponents in friendly competition. What Will Be Taught: -Math Skills: Through quick math questions, learners will practice addition, subtraction, and potentially multiplication and division, tailored to their grade level. -Strategic Thinking: Learners will develop strategies for collecting cards, completing sets, and utilizing special abilities to maximize their scores. -Social Interaction: Trading cards with peers will teach negotiation, fairness, and cooperation. -Understanding Game Mechanics: Learners will grasp the rules of Dimensional Drafting, including drafting cards, scoring points, and using special abilities. Topics Covered: -Introduction to the game and its components. -Understanding card types: Character, Item, and Location cards. -Scoring mechanics and set completion bonuses. -Special abilities and how to use them effectively. -The art of negotiation and fair trading. -Game etiquette and sportsmanship. Class Structure: Each session will be structured to include: -Introduction (5 mins): Quick recap of previous lessons and introduction to the day's focus. -Teaching Segment (5 mins): Detailed explanation of game mechanics, strategies, or math skills, accompanied by visual aids and examples. -Interactive Practice (35 mins): Hands-on gameplay, where learners will apply taught concepts in real-time, with guidance and support. -Discussion and Review (5 mins): Open floor for questions, sharing experiences, and reviewing key takeaways. -Closing Activity (5 mins): Brief review of the day's lesson and preview of the next session.
