US Grade 4 - 6
The bell just rang on a beautiful Friday afternoon! You have fun plans to see a movie with your friends and go swimming with your family. As you are halfway home, you remember you left your materials needed for a math project at school! You need them so you can have your half of the project done before Monday. You take you time walking back to school. You look at all of the artwork hanging on the walls before you get to your classroom. Once you grab your materials you notice that it is very quiet. All of the teachers are gone! All of the doors are locked. You need to figure out the clues before you spend the weekend at school!! This activity is a digital escape room. Think escape room, but all digital. Students are collaborating as a team to race against the clock to figure out the clues and puzzles to escape school! Students will problem solve together on addition, subtraction and multiplication problems and have a lot of fun! Students will access the escape room via a link I will send out through the chat box once class has started. Students will NOT need a Gmail account to access it. Students should have experience with multi digit addition and subtraction and simple multiplication.
Learning Goals
Students will collaborate as they solve math puzzles and problems.

Hello! My name is Natalie! I am a former Special Education Resource Teacher of 4 years. I have taught grades K-6 reading, writing and math small groups. I taught students with learning disabilities for 30 to 45 minutes a day, then they would go back to their homeroom class.
I love teaching students new strategies to solve problems. Everyone learns differently and everyone can absolutely learn and succeed. I love seeing my students finally understand math watch their confidence grow and have a blast learning! I love helping students learn to use the different tools in their tool box to solve a math problem. There are multiple ways a problem can be solved. I love teaching different strategies because one will work for students over the other.
Math can be viewed as hard, boring and daunting. It is my goal to make math fun, have students feel successful and tackle a math problem with confidence!
