Description
Class Experience
Weekly Learning Goals (Horse-Themed Drawing Class) Week 1: Horse Anatomy Week 2: Horse Tack & Equipment - Parts of Bridle, Parts of Saddle Week 3: Horses Have Jobs Week 4: Horses in Art & Entertainment ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students may also learn some drawing skills. Students may also learn some features and functions of the Procreate drawing application.
Students are expected to view the weekly videos and complete the assigned homework by the due date listed. These assignments are individual, but the students are encouraged to communicate their ideas, drawings, and any fun facts that they discover about horses (or the Procreate drawing app) in the weekly in-person group discussion and the ongoing discussion board. Homework should take your learner from around 30 minutes, up to an hour (depending on the assignment and prior experience).
If you choose to participate digitally, your child will need the following: - iPad - Apple Pencil or other 3rd Party Stylus - Procreate drawing app ($9.99 in the App Store) --> All coloring supplies are included in the app! https://procreate.art/ If unable to use Procreate for iPad or Procreate Pocket for iPhone: - your child may draw the assignments traditionally (pencil or pen and paper), photograph them/scan them, and upload them to Outschool prior to the meeting time
Learner progress is assessed by the accuracy of their homework. For example: properly labeling diagrams, citing (informally) any research they do associated with the two brief writing assignments.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
In order to participate using the Procreate application for iPad (as the Teacher will be), you must first go to the Apple App Store on your iPad (recommended) or iPhone and purchase the Procreate drawing application ($9.99 one time payment), download, and install the application using your Apple ID and Password. Below you will find a video tutorial on Youtube, this man walks a new iPad owner through the full iPad setup and Procreate installation. Please skip ahead to minute 02:45 - 04:50 to view how he selects, purchases, downloads, and installs Procreate for iPad from the Apple App Store. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKXQwct0qRE
