Come make friends while improving your art skill! In this ongoing class, we will meet weekly to share and talk about our digital art. Class format: Introductions and greetings Mini-lesson (learner directed) Open studio/art games Share artwork/critique Vote on next week's mini-lesson At the start of each class, we will do introductions and greetings. I will then give a mini-lesson on the topic of interest voted on from the previous week. We will then have open studio time were can students can work on their art. If learners are interested, we could also play some drawing games. Following studio time we will share artwork and give critiques to those who want them. We will finish up by voting on what the next mini-lesson should be for the following week. Mini lessons are learner directed but here are some ideas of stuff we might cover: procreate basics - layers, paintbrushes, auto fill, tips and tricks proportions of people chibi cute characters and animals This class does require the learner to have an Ipad, Procreate (approx $10 app installed) and an apple pencil (or other "off brand" stylus that works with the ipad) It would also be helpful to have two devices (although not required). The ipad to draw, and another to view the class. About me as an artist: I have loved art ever since I can remember. (Cliche but it is true.) I took every art class offered to me in middle school as well as highschool. I then earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their digital art skills using procreate.

Parental Guidance
The Procreate app is required for this class. Procreate is a drawing app, that does not require any logon as it is all tied to the iPad that it is installed on.
Supply List
Procreate installed on an Ipad apple pencil (or other "off brand" stylus that works with the ipad)
External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of North Texas
Hello!
I taught art in traditional public schools for 6 years in Texas and started teaching on Outschool in 2021.
I would say my specialty here on outschool is escape rooms.
I love teaching my passions and believe in teaching the whole child. That is why I love throwing in other tidbits of knowledge while working on a project. It also means if you signed up for an escape room with me, it might be under the category of "math" but I can guarantee you will be challenged at a lot more than just math. I like to challenge students to think outside of the box and come up with unique solutions to creative problems.
I also have taught art classes through Michaels Arts and Crafts stores. My favorite moment was when a young lady told me they had a closer store to them, but they drove further to me because, with me, she "actually learned stuff".
Fun and Personal: I love to create and have fun. In my free time, I love to play both board and video games. I am a huge Disney nerd, and represent the Hufflepuff house with pride. I have a sweet seven-year-old daughter and three cats at home.
Currently my personal life is jam packed so I am currently only offering self paced classes.
