Join our weekly club and delve into diverse topics in creating animated films and TV shows. Perfect for intermediate and advanced animators eager to expand their knowledge beyond frame-by-frame animation. Unleash your learner's creativity as we explore the captivating world of animated storytelling together. 🌟 Benefits of the Class - Dive deeper into the animation pipeline (workflow) - Cover topics beyond animation and enhance storytelling (ie, layout and backgrounds, storyboarding, character, and art direction…) - Explore different directions in the animation world (ie, possible career paths) - A better understanding of the workload of making animations 🛑 Prerequisite skills for the class - Intermediate experience with an animation program of the learner's choice. Including proficiency with using most available tools in a program such as: move and selection tool, text tool, changing the brush and eraser as well as their size and opacity, layers and groups, duplicate, undo and redo. - Understanding of how 2D animation works (Frames per Second and Onion Skin Frames) - Or have previously taken our other class: Digital Dabble: Procreate Animation Club | Beginner and/or Digital Dabble: Procreate Animation Club | Intermediate 📋 Class Structure - Cover weekly topic through a slideshow presentation, which includes references and examples - Present the challenge of the day along with any specific prompt(s) - Demo or explain the challenge* - Learner-directed work - Share with the class *During the lesson, learners are welcome to hold up their art to the camera for gentle feedback. They are also encouraged to ask questions throughout the lesson through the microphone or chatbox. For classes of more than 3 learners, everyone’s microphone will be muted during instruction to avoid background noise. Learners will be asked to raise their hand before speaking. 🖌️ Materials Any drawing and animation program of the learner’s choice as long as they are proficient in it. Learning Needs
Learners can engage with the teacher using various methods, such as the chatbox and reactions, in addition to the microphone.
All classes are recorded, allowing learners to review the demonstrations at their convenience.
Parental Guidance
- iPad with Procreate installed
- A tablet with Flipaclip installed
- Pencil2D Animation for Windows or Mac
For all of the programs above, they should be installed previous to class. Learners should have proficiency on the program of their choice. No parental guidance is needed and there is no requirement for registration.
Pre-Requisites
- Intermediate experience with an animation program of the learner's choice.
- Understanding of how 2D animation works
