Class Experience

I've worked with companies large and small on every stage of development, from troubleshooting clothing designs before they were sent off for production, to triaging factory orders that didn't match the dreams of designers. Coming up with ideas for pretty or cool clothing styles can be a fun, soothing, creative activity, but figuring out how to make each design real and marketable is a wonderful test of scientific and business thought.
I will provide different printable "models" for learners to use in sketching designs, if they want some guidance. Additionally, after each meeting, I will share pertinent resources that can help students enhance or forward their recent designs.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Fashion can get a little freaky. While every student's personal take on modesty will be respected, and I am familiar with many global traditions of dress, it's important to remember that when kids sketch clothing designs, it's a space for imagination. Fashion is, sometimes, offensive, and we will discuss that during class when it's pertinent.
