In this one-time tech class, learners will create symmetrical textile designs inspired by the late 1800s Art and Crafts Movement designer, William Morris, using the Procreate drawing app.

Intermediate Level
In this one-time tech class, learners will learn about the world of the 19th century poet, writer and designer, William Morris, and explore some of his well-known wallpaper and textile designs. Learners will then use a range of techniques to create their own symmetrical textile design looking to the design ideas employed by Morris and fellow artisans. I have been fortunate to have been involved in education services for over 30 years and have extensive experience delivering classroom-based lessons and online digital e-learning packages to both schools and home educated students. I have taught, as a qualified teacher, in mainstream schools for 20 plus years, and hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I really enjoy teaching digital i-Media and like to spend my free time creating digital content and digital art.

2 files available upon enrollmentFor this lesson, you will need access to the Procreate App on an i-Pad or i-Phone, and a suitable compatible drawing pencil, such as the Apple Pencil). This class is best delivered if you can work on your iPad whilst watching the demonstration on a different device. This will allow you to watch the demonstrations while you are drawing on your device.
