Let your child's creativity soar in this exciting Digital Art class! Each week, we'll delve into the worlds of popular Graphic Novels like Dog Man, Captain Underpants, Cat Kid, Owly, Bird & Squirrel, and Bad Guys, as well as TV shows like Adventure Time and Centaurworld. Using the Procreate app or the free website Scratch.mit.edu, we'll create characters, environments, and props in unique styles that will blow your mind! Your child is free to use any digital media they prefer, but we'll be using Procreate and Scratch.mit.edu. Throughout the course, we'll draw characters and environments from these popular books and shows, but we'll also encourage creativity by making our own unique designs. Bring your favorite books to class to show them off to your fellow learners or use them as a reference to help with your artwork. Here's a peek at our tentative weekly schedule: Week of Sep 11: Draw Dog Man Week of Sep 18: Create a sprite of Molly in Scratch and draw a backdrop from Cat Kid book Week of Sep 25: Draw Captain Underpants Week of Oct 2 : Adventure Time inspired art Join us for an unforgettable artistic adventure - sign up today! This class is open to beginners who are new to Procreate and Scratch and are looking to learn and explore the world of digital art. If your child prefers to use a different app or software, please make sure they're comfortable using it or be there to assist them during the class. Let's dive in and have fun creating together!

Parental Guidance
-Open to beginners new to Procreate and Scratch who want to learn and explore digital art
-Other software/apps welcome, but please ensure your child is comfortable using them or be available to assist them
-To save and share completed projects on the Scratch website, creating a Scratch account is recommended before the Zoom meeting
-Reference images will be shared using Google Slides and Graphic Novel books may be used for inspiration

Supply List
-Paper and pencil -A laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone, and speakers (Chromebooks and iPads are not recommended, unless you plan to use them as a secondary screen for Zoom) -Stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 3mbps -The Chrome browser is recommended for the best learning experience -Having two devices (one for Zoom, one for Scratch) is helpful for seamless navigation and multitasking during class -Any other app or software that your child is comfortable using (e.g. Procreate or Photoshop)
