US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner Level
In this 3-day course, students will learn how to draw using digital art software such as Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, MediBang Paint Pro, Autodesk Sketchbook, and more. The course will provide students with the skills they need to digitally draw characters and digitally paint landscapes using their preferred software. Students require access to a drawing tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this course. I have provided a list of both free and paid for art applications and software in the Materials section of the course. The following is the layout of this 3-day course:

1.	Basic Tool Overview, and Practice
2.	Character Design with a focus on Lining and Coloring Methods
3.	Landscape Design with focus on blending tools, and layer effects (glow, linear burn, etc.)

Day 1 (45 Mins): Students will learn some of the basic tools provided by their preferred digital art software (layers, brushes, transform tools, lasso tools, etc.). We will focus on creating rough sketches of characters and landscapes while using the tools discussed in class.

Day 2 (45 Mins): Students will create rough sketches of an animal or character and begin lining them. Students will learn important shortcuts that can help to speed up their process. We will also discuss a little color theory and begin coloring in our characters. If there is time, we will discuss the application of lights and shadows.

Day 3 (45 Mins): Students will learn the process of digitally painting a landscape. Students will learn how to use their blender tool and textured brushes to achieve desired results. We will also explore the differences between different layer effects and how they can push and pull the imagery created in today's class.

I look forward to seeing what we create together!

Welcome! My name is Rocco Sepulveda.

I have been a certified teacher for over 10 years. I have also been a Digital Artist for over 10 years as well!

My classroom is a space where learners can shine creatively, make strides towards their artistic goals, and share their passions with each other. It is a safe space where students can openly be themselves. In my courses students will learn to become better artists as they practice different drawing techniques. These techniques include learning to sketch, learning to break a figure down into simple shapes, learning a layered approach to drawing, learning different styles of applying linework, and learning different methods for rendering artwork.

I look forward to having your learner in my class!
