Class Experience

The goal of this class is to get your student excited about story structure, character types and analysis and about expressing themselves orally and through writing. I want to get your student excited about story analysis and to see that it can be so much fun!
My goal as an online teacher is to engage your student in English story structure through my enthusiasm for the wonderful cartoon, Digimon Adventure (2020). I will teach your student story analysis techniques that they can apply to future novels, short stories and other written content that they come into contact with on their educational journey. By learning these skills through our mutual enthusiasm for Digimon, they will remain active and engaged in learning the material. Though I am new to Outschool, I have taught over 200 students across various online platforms, and I have earned over 250 5/5 reviews. I am confident that I am providing and experienced online learning opportunity for your student. I am certified to teach English online with the TESOL-VIPKid Foundational certification and the TESOL-VIPKid-Advanced certification (2020). My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television and a minor in English. I use the perfect combination of fun and serious moments to keep my students fully engaged in learning the material. I often rely on my experience as a professional actor to keep my students smiling!
Students will watch an approximately 23 minute episode. Your student is highly encouraged to watch the episode prior to class.
Your student will need access to episode one of Digimon Adventure (2020). I recommend using the link and testing it in your browser several weeks before the class begins. It is a non-affiliated link and is provided to ease your viewing process. Using the link to view the episode is free. The episode might also be available for free to stream on YouTube or elsewhere on the Internet.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Just like Pokemon, Digimon features animal-like creatures with super powers that battle one another. Some parents might feel more comfortable watching the material with the student. As an assurance, Digimon is made for children.
