In this multi-day class, part one of two, we will move beyond a "thankfulness list" and dig deeper, think harder, see ourselves and the world more clearly, put our gratitude to work to help others feel appreciated, learn to appreciate ourselves and our talents, and feel a deeper thankfulness for everything we have and those who have made it possible. **This is semester one of two** My goal is to provide a deep attitude of gratitude that will serve my students throughout their lives. I've been a mental health professional working with children for eight years. I very often include gratitude in my work with these clients to increase mood and life satisfaction. I am also an individual who has researched and practiced many areas of gratitude for two decades. I feel gratitude on a deep level and wish to explore this topic with students around the world so that they too may reap the many benefits. To note: This class is not therapy.
Homework will be discussed in class and posted in the classroom as well. Week Three: Go on a gratitude walk. Write what you saw/felt that you were grateful for. We will share in the next class. Week Six: Learners will be asked to interview family members to discover what they’re grateful for. We will review our results in the next class.
Every class: A writing utensil. Colored pencils or other coloring tools are optional. A lined notebook or journal. Blank paper. A dual notebook is a wonderful option for the lined and blank paper, as they have pages with both. This keeps everything tidy and in one place. They can be found in some stores, and on Amazon.
