There are 4 main sentence types: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory. We will describe each one and provide examples. Students will practice writing each sentence type and identifying each sentence based on discussed sentence characteristics. The lesson will be divided into 3 main sections: lesson presented on slides, discussion of sentences types and examples, and practice writing each type of sentence. Information will be shared on slides, through discussion, and on a provided worksheet. Welcome 3-5 minutes Description of a proper sentence, declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences 8-10 minutes Differentiating sentence type and incomplete sentences 10-12 minutes Writing each type of sentence 18-24 minutes Review/Question and Answer 4-8 minutes
Learning Goals

Please have a pen or pencil. I will provide a worksheet to accompany the class discussion. Please check back on the classroom page and the worksheet will be available to print a day or two prior to the start of the lesson.

I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
