US Grade 1 - 3
There are 4 main sentence types: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory. We will describe each one and provide examples. Students will practice writing each sentence type and identifying each sentence based on discussed sentence characteristics. 

The lesson will be divided into 3 main sections: lesson presented on slides, discussion of sentences types and examples, and practice writing each type of sentence.

Information will be shared on slides, through discussion, and on a provided worksheet.

Welcome 3-5 minutes
Description of a proper sentence, declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences 8-10 minutes
Differentiating sentence type and incomplete sentences 10-12 minutes
Writing each type of sentence 18-24 minutes
Review/Question and Answer 4-8 minutes
Learning Goals
Students will practice identifying and writing each of four main sentence type, declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences based on discussed sentence characteristics. Opportunity to review and ask questions.

Please have a pen or pencil. I will provide a worksheet to accompany the class discussion. Please check back on the classroom page and the worksheet will be available to print a day or two prior to the start of the lesson.
