Advanced Level
This is an overview course focusing upon International Relations mainly between the wars, however will include an introduction concerning the causes of the Great War as well as the origins of the Second World War and the opening campaigns. The rich content of this time period and its abundant historical sources makes for a very interesting series of classes. The focus of these tutorials is designed to prepare the student for advanced exams (GCSE, IB, AS/A Level, and A.P.) as well as to immerse them in incredibly important era of the 20th century.

(EXAM STUDENTS) One we have had an initial discussion concerning which examination board your student is preparing for I will design a scheme of work that is tailored toward the specific needs of the learner. If your student is already or presently enrolled in a course of study, then the course will focus upon case studies and skill specific areas which need the most improvement. If not, then the approach will be as a course of study using one of the approved texts from either OCR, AQA, Edexcel or another examination board.

Common to all specifications, but topics of particular emphasis with this tutorial will be: Impact of the Russian Revolution, Early Soviet State, Paris Peace Conference, League of Nations, Weimar Germany, Rise of Single Party States, World Depression, British Domestic Issues, Appeasement, Stalinist Russia, Hitlerian Germany, Interwar Crises, and the Causes of the Second World War.

This course can be established a specific focus, e.g., Germany In-Depth, 1918-1945 upon request.

(EXAM STUDENTS) Please indicate which examination board your student is preparing for and what specific areas are of the most importance and allow 1-2 weeks for me to develop a scheme of work to best prepare the learner for the examination. As well, if your student is very interested in the time period and not sitting an exam, all the better - I will develop an enriching, structured tutorial to suit their interests.
