In this one-time class, learners will compete against peers in live trivia games all about the first three books in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series by Jeff Kinney. This class only covers content from the first three books in the series.

This class meets one time for 45 minutes. It will be based on the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series books 1-3. The design of this class is to engage, challenge, and celebrate readers of all levels. The interactive fun and friendly trivia games between learners during this live class will strengthen reading comprehension skills, provide good sportsmanship skills, and celebrate reading. Learners should have knowledge of the first three books in the series. If not, they need to read or listen to the books online before the class. During the online class meeting, learners will communicate by speaking to the teacher and other learners, as well as selecting the answers to questions using a device to play Kahoot as I read questions and answer choices to them aloud. I will briefly explain how the book trivia competition will work at the beginning of class. Also, learners may share their artistic representation of any part of the first three books in the series as the class starts. At the end of the trivia game, we will find out who the super fans are?

Students will build reading comprehension skills, a sense of community around reading, and practice good sportsmanship.

Supply List
"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books 1-3 by Jeff Kinney may be purchased online, checked out at a public library, or listen to on Kindle. Learners will need an additional device such as a tablet or cell phone. You can download the Kahoot It app for free prior to the class. When it is time to start the Kahoot, I will share the pin number they will need in order to enter into the game using the Kahoot app. Learners will also need to choose an appropriate nickname, use their first name, or their initials once they enter the game.
