In this class, students will learn about the Día De Muertos / Día de Los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico & the U.S. and learn related Spanish words. We’ll compare & contrast it with Halloween, its connection to Frida Kahlo, and discuss the customs and food.
Class experience
Students will learn age-appropriate and interesting facts about the Mexican Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) holiday and how it is celebrated in Mexico and the United States. The teacher, who is of Chicana / Mexican heritage, will explain common misconceptions of this holiday. We will finish off the class with a fun Kahoot! review.
