Have you ever thought about how we grow and develop throughout our lifespan? This class takes a look at the process through the field of Psychology. The course will be broken up over three courses to discuss the following: The first course meeting will cover how psychologists study human development and the influence of hereditary and environmental factors. We will also review child development and outside factors that could effect the child before birth. During the second class meeting, we will cover the infancy and childhood stage of development. We will take a closer look at the competencies of newborns, milestones of physical and social development during childhood, and the cognitive development during this stage. The final class meeting will be focused on Adolescence and Adulthood. We will look at the physical, social and cognitive transitions during adolescence and different stages of adulthood. While questions and discussions will be encouraged throughout the meetings, I will also leave time at the beginning and end of each meeting for questions. I wouldn't require any prior knowledge requirements, but if you are interested in Psychology, I would recommend my Essentials of Psychology course.
