Class experience
The class will focus on components of music notation (pitch, rhythm, fingering, etc) and coordinating the performance of selected graded material. Topics: 1. Note Recognition. 2. Rhythm Studies. 3. Position Studies. 4. Etudes. 5. Chart Reading. We start each class with drills to improve fundamental reading skills then apply those skills to selected professional bass charts and etudes in various styles. There will be music to practice for home work. Students should practice the handouts 2-4 hours a week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
