The course consists of 7 lessons and 19 projects.
First 7 lessons introduce the kids to Photography, cameras; they learn how important light is for photography, the main composition rules, they learn to visualize potential shots before clicking the shutter button. The teacher explains and comments on the new material, gives examples in a very kids-friendly manner, through cartoon stories where the main character learns and teaches them the basics of photography. At the end of each lesson questions to review are given as well as practice time from 4-7 lesson). Upon completion of these 7 classes, there will be 19 projects offered where all the new skills are trained with the learned rules and techniques, as well as new ones are explained if it's necessary to complete a project. As a result you child collects a good number of impressive images that can be put together into an Accomplishment book, which can be shared with anyone and will always bring happiness and joy when students see the result of their hard work. If all the projects are fulfilled a certificate is issued and your child can continue his photography journey on the Second Level of the School.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Let me introduce myself and tell you why I am here.
I am a teacher by education and a photographer by passion. Before moving to the states I had worked as an English teacher for Russian students for 12 years (I have Masters Degree in Teaching). Here I teach Russian occasionally as well as Photography.
This year I celebrate my 40th friendship anniversary with my camera... Yes it started long time ago, with a gift (a professional camera) from my dad on my 12th Birthday. I was both thrilled and intimidated by this professional-looking "machine." Little did I know that this gift would become the key to unlocking my dreams.

Photography, to me, is more than just clicking pictures; it's like writing books, making speeches, or painting on canvas of life's inspired themes.
Photography, in its essence, is about preserving memories, and my dad taught me that early on. It's a remarkable tool that allows us to capture the beauty, the moments, and the significance in our lives and share it with the world.
The way I fell in love with photography can be a nice example of how a child can love photography and how it can become a lifelong interest and passion.
Here I list top 6 reasons to think about, why learning photography can be beneficial for a child:

📸It can turn your child’s boring free time into a FUN free time with interesting activities, which can develop into a serious hobby or a profession in the future

📸your child learns to correctly compose images, with attention to detail using either camera or cell phone, and can make their input into the creation of your family’s photo memories

📸It can help your child acquire new friends and become more sociable or start a conversation when it’s hard to do so

📸it can help with the completion of school projects in academic studies or in any type of art

📸It can affect the overall development, including confidence, positive self-esteem, emotional state, creativity, observance and self-expression

📸through fun projects they develop appreciation, positive curiosity, and interest in everything that surrounds them, staying in a real world vs virtual world of video games, using the same gadgets

So, welcome to my world of visual storytelling, where I invite you to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us. Let's embark on this incredible journey together!
