Class Experience

The focus of this class is to develop our understanding of the elements of story building. Focusing on a different element each session will mean we can make progress in all the key areas on an ongoing basis. By using the writing we have generated in the Explore Creativity class, we will be able to build on that and develop more sophisticated narratives. Learners who want to develop their stories will find this class helpful for understanding the different elements of a story and how to use them in their writing to create their own story worlds.
No work outside of class is expected but the learners will be encouraged to develop their stories.
Bring your writing, if you have any. You may have generated some ideas in our Explore Creativity class or you may have started writing a story at school or in your own time. Bring something you can write with and something to write on. Pens and paper are perfect. You can type if you prefer, or use crayons, or dictate out loud to your grown-up! A good old ballpoint pen and a notebook will do just fine. I like to have my favourite drink with me when I write, and sometimes a little snack too. And remember to bring your imagination!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
