🖌️ Welcome to our weekly ongoing kids' art class, where we explore the beauty of the National Parks through drawing and painting. In this course, young artists will have the opportunity to learn about a different landscapes featured in the United State's National Parks and animals that calls the National Parks their home, while mastering art techniques.

🖼️ Each week, we will focus on a different National Park, learning about the unique features of its landscape and the animals that inhabit it. We will explore subjects such as the towering mountains of Yosemite, the vibrant coral reefs of Biscayne, and the breathtaking geysers of Yellowstone. Through drawing and painting, students will learn about the different colors, shapes, and textures that make each National Park distinct.

🖌️ Our class will be structured to allow for plenty of hands-on painting time. Students will learn different drawing techniques such as sketching, contour lines, shading and watercolor techniques, such as wet-on-wet, dry brush, and washes, to create beautiful and expressive works of art of the National Parks' landscapes and animals. They will also have the opportunity to experiment with different materials after the initial sketch in order to give them freedom of artistic choice.

🧑‍🎨 Our experienced instructors will provide one-on-one guidance and support to each student, ensuring that they are challenged and encouraged to grow as artist as this class is designed for children of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

Supply List
✏️ If only using drawing materials:
Drawing paper
Pencil
Eraser
*Optional materials to add color such as crayons, colored pencils, pastels, markers, watercolor pencils, etc.

🖌️ If adding paint after the initial sketch:
Thicker paper or canvas such as watercolor or mixed media paper - to prevent frustration this thick paper is best, thinner paper soaks up the water and wears holes into it quickly
Watercolor, acrylic, or tempera paint 
Paint brushes - a variety of sizes
Water cup
Paper towel
A placemat, paint shirt, or apron are recommended
