Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will gain skills in sketching, drawing, painting, creativity, composition, and use of the Elements and Principles of Art and Design in their work.
Our teachers are all experienced art teachers with a passion to teach drawing and painting skills to aspiring artists.
No homework will be assigned unless they feel they would like to spend more time refining their work.
✏️ If only using drawing materials:
Drawing paper
*Optional materials to add color such as crayons, colored pencils, pastels, markers, watercolor pencils, etc.

🖌️ If adding paint after the initial sketch:
Thicker paper or canvas such as watercolor or mixed media paper - to prevent frustration this thick paper is best, thinner paper soaks up the water and wears holes into it quickly
Watercolor, acrylic, or tempera paint 
Paint brushes - a variety of sizes
Water cup
Paper towel
A placemat, paint shirt, or apron are recommended
Guidance will be provided every step of the way.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
