This class is for any dragon loving warrior out there looking for a guardian for their secret domain. In this fun 75 minute (1 hour and 15 min) class, students will create their own majestic dragon face to hang wherever they'd like. Use it as a sign on your bedroom, create it as a gift, design your very own unique dragon species! Through this class, Students will- -Learn how to carefully handle a glue gun -Learn how to design and create their own design -Learn how to use permanent markers to create effects -Learn how to use paint effects to create shading and effects -Learn how to draw a dragon's face -Create a mixed media art project -Create a cool art piece they can use for many ideas!
Materials you will need- -A piece of watercolor paper OR cardboard OR card stock (paper must be rigid and thicker than printer paper) -Acrylic craft paint (We will use at least 3 colors so have a dark color and a lighter shade.) If you want a metallic look, have a gold, silver or a metal color as well. -A brush with water for paint and a towel / paper towel. -A glue gun with at least 2-3 full size glue sticks or 3-6 mini glue sticks. -Optional- glass stones or large plastic jewels for the eyes. (Eyes can also be painted on paper) -Permanent markers to draw the eyes on the glass pieces. -A pencil with eraser (To draw your dragon) -Newspaper, cardboard (Something you can have under you to catch any drips of glue or paint.) OPTIONAL- -Glitter, glitter paint -Glow in dark paint, special paints to add details -Rhinestones or decorative gems for extra decoration
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
