Class Experience

Dot mandalas teach students about patience and balance. They are a creative and engaging activity for anyone - even someone with no art experience! I should know - dot mandalas were the first piece of art that I explored. Creating dot mandalas gave me confidence in my artistic abilities and gave me a great creative outlet where I am able to relax and create something beautiful.

In this class, students will first learn about the significance of mandalas and what they represent. Then, the teacher will demonstrate different techniques for creating the dots and designing their mandala. Students will have time to practice their dot techniques before moving on to their final piece. The last half of class will be spent in creative exploration as students create their own dot mandalas on a piece of paper, a rock, or even a paper plate! We will have calming music playing and the teacher will periodically check on each student.

This class will be welcoming, encouraging, and calm. A great way to relax after a busy school day!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everybody! My name is Miss Michelle. I love to explore all different types of hobbies, and I am so excited to teach you using creative outlets such as writing, music, photography, baking, and art.

I have a Master's Degree in Secondary English Education, so I love teaching about literature, reading, and especially writing. One of my favorite things about teaching English is helping students believe in their own voice and become confident writers.

My goal as a teacher is always to create a personal connection with each student that allows them to be their true, unique self and allows me to best help them grow as a learner!

Hope to see you in the classroom soon!
