Design FUNdamentals: The Shape (Flex)

In this 4 week flexible schedule course, learners will be introduced to 2 types of shape, as well as how shapes are used in graphic art, and participate in weekly activities and drawing projects.

Class Experience

Learners will increase their understanding of the various uses of the shape in graphic arts and design, as well as practice their drawing skills.
I hold 2 Master degrees in education, and a Bachelor degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History (2015). I also hold an Associate degree in Special Education (2011). I have been working as a graphic artist for several years, and I have several years of experience teaching children from aged 3 to 18, both online and in person.

This entire course can be completed with pencil and paper! Plus a few other items typically found around the home. 
But learners are encouraged to used whatever drawing tools they prefer, from pencils, to crayons, to color pencils, to markers, to paints, to pen and ink, to digital applications. This allows learners to explore new tools, or to further develop their existing knowledge in their favorite tools.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Educator created videos are hosted on Youtube and embedded in the classroom in accordance with Outschool's learner safety policies. Videos can be made available through alternative methods by request.
