We will look at different bridge types for inspiration and then each child will build their own unique bridge out of lego bricks or similar building toy. Class Outline: During the first 5 minutes the children can talk with me and show the class projects they have already made. I love to see what young Lego enthusiasts have created. To start class we will sing a short song...
Children will have the opportunity to - engage in creative play - practice fine motor skills - share ideas with peers - learn about different types of bridges - use imagination and problem solving skills - use the design-build-test process - exercise S.T.E.M. skills in an age appropriate way - see mistakes as an opportunity to redesign and improve
No homework will be assigned.
- a reasonable amount of Lego - a piece of paper and crayons / pencil crayons Optional : - string - scissors - tape If you don’t have Lego, any type of building toy may be used, such as Duplo / Mega Blocks / Tinker Toys
