Class experience
Students in this task-based Biology (Genetics) class work together to create a new breed of dog - a dog ideally suited to help Scientists do field work. They select parent dogs with desirable traits and observe how the traits are passed on to individual puppies in the litter. Along the way, students learn about genetics concepts like genes, evolution, artificial selection, and inheritance. Students also build critical thinking skills as they discuss which puppies are best suited for the job...
