Class Experience

Participants will design their own game!
Day One: Choose a theme-the jungle, your town, outer space, or based off your favorite book or show. Discuss types of board games for inspiration.

Day Two: Discuss objective, twists, and game challenges. For example, the dog ate your homework, you won a challenge move forward two spaces, a monkey steals your watch go back 3 spaces, hold your tongue and sing the alphabet song.

Day Three: Discuss directions and game pieces you wish to incorporate. Will you draw cards, roll a die, spin a spinner, or move around the group. Will game pieces be toy animals, coins, shells, rocks or pieces from another game. Establishing basic rules are a challenge and takes some thinking, experimentation and trial and errors. Let's work on a starting point and can make adjustments.

Day Four: Start making your game board.

Day Five: Complete your game board and play the game. We will have time to make adjustments in objective and directions.

Class will be help with accompanying slides and discussion encouraging each participant to create their best and most fun game. Slides will include various examples and a packet will provide some templates and common shapes, even a die design.
