We will learn the engineering process, then design together in 3D in Tinkercad in the same design space! We will work collaboratively like real engineers, then we will share our designs with the class. :)

The class will vote on the best design, and the winning team will get a certificate of achievement in PDF format.Class Experience
In this class we will design together in 3D in Tinkercad interactively in the same design space in teams so you can work collaboratively like real engineers do! Please visit tinkercad.com before the first class meets and have your student sign up for an account. The group will be assigned an engineering challenge, then you and your teammate will discuss how you will solve the problem using the engineering process steps. The first day we will define the problem, do background research, determine specifications, then we will break into teams to brainstorm and chose a design that will solve that problem. The second day we will have 30 minutes to complete our designs in Tinkercad, and check to see if it meets specifications. Then each team will present their designs to the class, have a Q and A,and then the voting begins! Each student will vote for the most creative, the most aesthetic, the most economical, the most to spec, most realistic, and which design most likely to "Win the Contract"!

Students will understand the engineering process, develop a model collaboratively, and present findings to the group.

Parental Guidance
I am a teacher, but I am also a mom. I understand that things come up. If you need to transfer your student, even after the first class, I am happy to do so. Please send me a private message and I will respond within 3 working days. If I cannot transfer your student into another section, I will gladly refund you as much as Outschool permits.

Please remember to sign up for a Tinkercad account before the first class meets. This web-based software is from Autodesk, the same company that provides professional modeling software to engineers from all types of engineers since 1982!
