We will learn the engineering process, then design together in 3D in Tinkercad in the same design space! We will work collaboratively like real engineers, then we will share our designs with the class. :)
Class experience
In this class we will design together in 3D in Tinkercad interactively in the same design space in teams so you can work collaboratively like real engineers do! Please visit tinkercad.com before the first class meets and have your student sign up for an account. The group will be assigned an engineering challenge, then you and your teammate will discuss how you will solve the problem using the engineering process steps. The first day we will define the problem, do background research,...
Students will understand the engineering process, develop a model collaboratively, and present findings to the group.
As a civil engineering designer, I helped develop solutions for real world storm water and sediment control problems. I also did site development in a huge shopping plan, and a bike trail project that my kids have seen completed. I truly believe that engineering is art, and art is engineering, and that is why I love teaching the next generation how to use their creativity to solve real problems.
