Class Experience
This 4 Week class will cover the how-to's and how-don'ts of creating dynamic and original characters. Students are welcome to use their favorite traditional media or to use their favortie digital art program to create their characters. Topics will include brainstorming your characters, checking for originality, character sketches, underpainting and painting with alphas as well as using 3D models to get the best pose. The class will start with a demo and will be followed by class time...
-Students will gain a deeper understanding of contrapposto and its application to people -Students will gain an understanding of how fabric effects wrinkles -Students will gain an understanding of copyright and why it’s important to create your own unique and original characters -Students will gain an understanding of how to both take and give constructive criticism
Students will be expected to complete assignments outside of class time. They will also be expected to come to class with sketches completed as well as participate in critiques in the classroom. This should take roughly 2-4 hours a week depending on the student.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
