Description

Class Experience

Fluency is the ability to read a text accurately, quickly, and with expression. Reading fluency is so important because it provides a bridge between word recognition and comprehension. Fluency is also very important for motivation! I love watching children learn to love reading!
In this reading session, we will first discuss background knowledge on the topic. Then, I will read a non-fiction passage out loud with correct fluency.  Next, we will read the passage out loud together (choral...

Students will grow in their reading fluency by practicing reading and comprehension.

I have over 13 years of experience teaching and a Master of Education with a Concentration in Reading. I have taught online and in the public and charter school systems.

Complete any comprehension questions that were not finished in class.

A 2-page handout for each class

Students will have a 1-minute times reading.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
