Through a video chat, students will learn how to write a descriptive essay. They will learn the basic techniques of writing a descriptive essay, along with basic tips on how to be effective in their writing. There will be a PowerPoint from which students will get basic notes about descriptive writing which should last for 20 minutes. Students will get the next 30 minutes to write the first paragraph of their descriptive essay. The last 10 minutes of the class students will be allowed to share with the class what they wrote. They will write their essay on a topic of their choice while exploring descriptive techniques. This will be a very interactive class as students will be able to ask the teacher questions along with sharing a piece of their work with the class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their writing ability while reading to each other a paragraph of their writing. This class will also provide a little public speaking opportunity for the students.

A writing book and pen is all that will be necessary.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
