In this class, students will have many hands-on activities to strengthen their creative writing skills.

Descriptive writing is an exciting writing experience for students. It allows them to be creative and express themselves in a meaningful way. By developing descriptive writing skills, the students can improve how they may look at a sentence in a new and fun way.
Each week I will provide a teacher-directed activity followed by student practice in class. The students will learn to think creatively and organize their thoughts on paper. Our lessons will begin with modeled lessons...1. Students will write a detailed description of a person, place, or thing. 2. Students will draw a picture to generate ideas. 3. Students will plan written work and show their classmates. 4. Students will brainstorm describe words for their writing. 5. Students will write a sentence using a noun, verb, and adjective.
I have taught writing for over twenty-five years. I have received training from Colombia University’s Teacher College in Writers Workshop. I have tutored writing to many second grade students.
