6 in-class hoursClass Experience
During this class, students will enjoy learning the description of a character while practicing their writing skills in French. The class will take place over a 8 weeks period. Each week the students will be asked to complete a short writing assignment related to the description element (about 6-7 sentences, except for the final writing assessment). There will be DIY projects to complete as well (drawing and coloring). Each week, I will post topics based the current week's writing and every student is expected to participate in our interactive online discussion. Each enrolled student should be able to write full sentences in French almost without help before attending this course. If you didn't, I will suggest you to have a look on my other writing level group. What will include the live class formula ? During our live class, I will guide each student through his creative process to achieve our weekly writing challenge. Each live class recording will be available to review the notions taught during the week. At the beginning of each class, students will be invited to read their completed writing to their classmates. Before the end of each class, I will give the instructions to help students complete the writing assignment of the week and writing tips about each step of the description. If needed, I will be available to answer all questions through the classroom and by email weekly. How will I share my content and give assignment's instructions for student ? Weekly writing assignment content, instructions and material (PDF) will be share in the classroom forum. Plus, all the writing elements learning PPT will be shared in to the classroom forum for further practice or review. On top of this, a video recording of me explaining my own creative writing process for each step of the art of descriptive writing as an author will be shared in the classroom forum as well to help student discover their own creativity potential. How will I evaluate my students writing skill improvement ? Each week, each student will have to complete a writing assignment and share it with me (by picture or scan). Once I have received my students weekly writing assignment within the time delay mentioned in the forum, I will send relevant feedback and writing tips into the learner's message box. Please note that if the assignment wasn't due on time, I won't send feedback. Students will have 6 days to complete their assignment right after it will be posted in the forum. Please note that I don't support a graded feedback system. Therefore, each student will receive comments, tips and suggestions for each writing assessment. Plus, at the end of the semester, each student will have a final writing assessment to complete and a live presentation to prepare. Participation from all learners will be expected as writing assignments and assessment into the classroom. How to make sure this level suits your child ? Please note that each student need to complete the first writing assignment before the first workshop so I can make sure that this level suits well. Please note as well that this class is taught in French but if needed I would help my student to translate words or expressions. If the time slot doesn't suits your schedule, a flex course (semester long) is available as well for students 8 years old and older.
