Students will learn a fun, fast paced dance combination to Disney’s Descendant’s-It’s Going Down! We will use jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop style dance Class will begin promptly at the scheduled time. We will designate a few moments for greetings, followed by a quick warm-up, then choreography in small sections (1-2 eight counts at a time) This class will thrive from fast paced, non-stop movement. Learners will experience a fun and energetic experience through this dance combination. Corrections will be offered as encouragement, and learners are praised for participating. Learners will have paused breaks for questions after each 8 count phrase Learners should be between the ages of 10-15 and have some moderate to intermediate level dance experience; however, all experience levels are welcome and I will work with beginners and modify the phrase to accommodate if needed! Learners are required to have an open space for movement, appropriate clothing such as leggings, and closed footwear if dancing on smooth surfaces such as tile or wood, and water. Socks are not recommended on smooth floors.

Hello learners and families! I am proud to share that I have been a teacher for over 10 years and was honored to be announced Teacher of the Year for the 2019-20 school year.
I began my teaching career in theater and drama for grades K-8. I also transitioned into the classroom as a Social Studies teacher for 2 years for grades 6-8. The past 5 years have been my absolute favorite though- teaching ELA for grades 6-8. It is so wonderful and fun to prepare young minds for a lifetime of reading and writing.
Having a background in theater has really helped shape the style of learning I provide for my students. I absolutely love and believe in movement, collaboration, and kinesthetic learning. I love to bring music (re-written popular songs by yours truly), pneumonic devices, and rotating activities to my classroom daily. I think it is so important for young minds to experience rigor in a way that can engage them. I am also incredibly organized, a master of paperwork sorting, and I hold the bar of expectation high for ALL of my students.
