In this eight-week intermediate course, students focus on portraits of popular Demon Slayer characters. Students will utilize different techniques and approaches to execute a portrait of each character. Students will learn how to measure, how to use their pencil as a measuring tool, utilize guidelines, and how to use simple shapes to create a complex form. Students should expect to draw the profile facing forward, 3/4th profile and side profile. Students will be able to walk away...
Students will understand the basics of drawing an anime portrait. Students will be able to execute different angles and will be confident on drawing their own portrait after the class.
Students may need additional time outside of class to finish projects. This depends on the pace of the online work session. No more than half an hour to an hour a week will be needed, if at all. Coloring is recommended to be done for homework. Coloring is optional.
-Sketchbook/Paper -Pencil -Pencil Sharpener -Eraser (vinyl recommended) -Fine-tip permanent pen (Sharpie and Micron recommended) -Coloring Materials (Mrs. V will demo with Copic Markers. Students may use any coloring materials they have on hand. This includes but not limited to; colored pencils, markers, crayons, watercolor pencils/pens, etc. If using watercolor pencils/pens please use watercolor paper).
