Dem Bones - Halloween Fall Class for Beginner Ukulele Players

Dem Bones - Halloween Challenge for Young Beginners Ukulele is a class where Halloween characters are used to play different rhythm patterns and songs. This class is great for children who have already played the ukulele before and also for total beginners.

This class is very interactive. Children will have the opportunity to ask questions, play rhythmic games, answer questions and play Halloween songs on the ukulele.

We will start by showing different Halloween characters and children will be reminded how to hold their ukulele and strum it. Then we will sing a little Hello song to each character, playing different strumming patterns for each one of them (ie on strum down for 'bat', a strum down and a strum up for 'spi-der', etc).  Children will have the opportunity to practise their strumming before the first song starts. They will also practise the C Major chord, G7 and F Major (if they know the cords, if not, strumming would be great!)

We will build momentum by starting with an easy nursery rhyme, then learn a children's Halloween song. 
1. Hello song - rhythm playing with Halloween characters (strumming Down and Down-Up)
2. Incy Wincy Spider - keep a steady beat while strumming DU (Down -Up) - Learn the C chord
3. Dem Bones - Learn the F chord
4. Two Little Black Cats Sitting on a Hill - a nursery rhyme that will teach children to pick the strings of the ukulele at a steady beat.
5. I'm A Silly Witch - interactive rhythmic game
6. Goodbye song.
