Class Experience
This lesson aims to raise awareness about what deforestation is in the context of balanced debate and discussion while learning where it happens, why, and how. Deforestation is a term used when humans burn or cut down large areas of trees to make space for pasture, agricultural land, city expansion or fuel. There are two main types of deforestation that we will look at: Burning down of trees Cutting down of trees (including logging). We will discuss why there isn't a simple answer to...
To be to understand what deforestation is. To be able to explore reasons for deforestation. To be able to discuss countries where deforestation has a huge local impact.
I am an experienced classroom primary / elementary school teacher and head of year. I have taught in London, North Africa and the Middle East and am now based in the U.S. With many years of experience and enjoy helping children progress in their academic journey. I pride myself on ensuring that the materials are educational and engaging and that children leave the lesson knowing more than they started. Progressing and moving forward with confidence.
