Class Experience

Superheroes assemble! 

Everyone feels stressed, and that’s okay! Through this interactive class, students will learn:
- What stress is
- What their “Bat-Signal” may be (how they know they’re stressed and what stress can feel like)
- Different “superpowers” (tools, techniques, and tips) they can activate to help them overcome stress
- The difference between good stress and bad stress 

Students will also have the opportunity to practice a couple of the learned “superpowers” as a class! 

It will be emphasized that we may have different stressors and “Bat-Signals” resulting in us connecting with different “superpowers”. Therefore, this class will cover a variety of different “superpowers” students can take with them and try to find what works best for them. Even though there are a lot of subjective experiences with stress, everyone can find a way to manage it.

This class is an interactive lecture style that includes PowerPoint, guided activities, conversations, and connections to some of our favourite superheroes. Students are encouraged to share their experiences with stress and what works for them or they are more than welcome to sit back and absorb the information.  

Students will leave this class with the tools they need to defeat stress like a superhero!
Learning Goals
Students will leave the class with an understanding of what stress is and how it can feel, tools they can use to overcome it, and the difference between good and bad stress. This class will normalize stress and promote healthy ways of working through it.

The focus of this class is for students to learn different tools that may be helpful in managing stress. Please note that this is not meant to take place of any medical advice.
