Deer in the Snow Colored Pencil Drawing
Class experience
In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a festive deer walking through the snow, using colored pencil. I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion between teacher and students is encouraged and a great place for students to make lasting friendships. 1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a deer (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast, using colored pencil. 3. Students will learn techniques to draw a ribbon wrapped around a deer's neck, using colored pencil. 4. Students will learn techniques to make their drawing have more depth perspective, using colored pencil. 5. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic branches/trees, using colored pencil. 6. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic fur texture and patterns of a deer, using colored pencil. 7. Students will learn a few facts about deer.

***I will be using Prismacolor colored pencils, but students can use what they have. ***Students may use oil to blend their colored pencil drawings if they desire.
