In this class, students will develop early Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills through literacy and hands-on learning.

Class experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
Science skills include: Observing and describing properties of materials, recording observations and sharing ideas through models or drawings, and asking questions to gather more information.
Math skills include: counting, symmetry, writing and recognizing numbers, and cardinality. 
Engineering skills include: Engineering Design Process (ask, plan, build, test, evaluate, improve), critical thinking, problem solving, perseverance.
I am a NH certified Elementary Teacher (K-8).
I am a NH certified Educational Technology Specialist.
I hold a Masters of Education in Educational Technology.
I have 10 years of teaching and curriculum development experience.
I am a mother to a 5-year old and 3-year old.

Please print all digitally provided materials before class. Week 1: -Pencil -Scissors -Marshmallows or balls of playdoh -Toothpicks -Paper plate (or something to contain a mess to build on) -Pipe cleaners -Construction paper -A couple of craft sticks -Scotch tape -Aluminum foil -White pom poms or cotton balls for "snow" -Learning resources (digital): Snowflake task cards, snowflake recording sheet, shovel planning sheet Week 2: -Glue stick -Something to make "gumdrop" circles with: dot stickers, a marker, or a dot marker -Pipe cleaners, string, paper, craft sticks, -Tape -Scissors -Learning resources (digital): Gumdrop counting mat, gingerbread sequencing mat, characters, bridge building mat, gingerbread man foldable figurine Week 3: -Play doh balls or mini "gifts" -Game die -Clothespins -Craft sticks -Construction paper -Learning resources (digital): Beginning sound clues, answer cards, and elf answer mat, gift counting mat, Sitting elf foldable figure
