Class Experience
Students will learn: • What is a debate? • How to make arguments • Active listening skills • How to disagree with kindness and respect Students will gain value experience: • Public speaking • Presenting in front of the class • Presenting their thoughts and ideas • Thinking critically • Debating with their friends and peers
Teacher Mel is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Law. There she practiced building and crafting legal arguments. She has a passion for teaching students how to debate and encourages public speaking to all students.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be debating in class. All topics will be non-controversial and relevant to students aged 6 to 8.
