In this class, students will master the art of proper debate, learning how to present compelling arguments and actively listen to and counter opposing viewpoints. Through targeted exercises and practical activities, learners will develop excellent communication skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Sample Topics:

The impact of social media on society
Homeschooling vs. traditional schooling: Which is better?
Should junk food be prohibited in schools?
The influence of television on children: Beneficial or detrimental?
The necessity of school uniforms
Ethical considerations of consuming animal products
We understand that public speaking can be a daunting task for many individuals. Therefore, our curriculum focuses not only on building confidence but also on equipping students with lifelong argumentation skills. These skills are not only essential for professional success but also for effective everyday communication.

Our class structure is designed to maximize participation and skill development. Upon joining, students will be assigned a topic for the week, enabling them to prepare arguments for both the proposition and opposition sides. However, the specific position they will argue will be revealed in class, fostering adaptability and versatility in their debate skills.

During debates, each team will have an opening speaker who presents a well-constructed case. Following this, students will engage in rebuttal rounds, where they will learn to deconstruct and weaken their opponents' points while skillfully adding their own perspectives. To enhance organization and facilitate effective counterarguments, debaters and listeners will be provided with flow sheets to actively take notes throughout the entire debate.

What sets our class apart is the flexibility to join at any time and the guarantee of new and exciting topics each week. Whether you're a seasoned debater or just starting out, our curriculum ensures that every session is a valuable learning experience.

Join us as we embark on an enriching journey of debate and communication, where students can develop their skills, express their ideas confidently, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. Together, let's unlock the power of persuasive discourse!
