Dear Teacher: How to Write and Send an Email to Your Teachers!

Hello! My name is Teacher Cheryl and I am excited to join many amazing teachers here on Outschool! 

I am a certified teacher (CA and NH) with a double Bachelors in Education and Psychology. I have also completed postgraduate studies in Early Childhood and Special Education with additional endorsement to teach English Language Learners. I have taught learners from ages 3 and all the way up to high school in private, public schools and online settings. Most recently, I have worked with preschoolers through a private school and have truly grown to love it. I love making learning fun, helping learners build connections and providing opportunities to learn independently!  My wide variety of teaching experience allows me to meet learners where they are as they build confidence in themselves.

I have always been passionate about changing the world through education, so being a teacher is a dream come true! I truly believe every learner can succeed when their unique personalities and interests are nurtured. I am especially passionate about Asian American heritage stories and look forward to sharing this world experience to learners here on Outschool. I also love teaching literacy through fun, interactive, hands-on activities, and every day practical life skills (hello chocolate 🍫 !) that will help your learners fall in love with learning!

When I am not teaching, I love traveling with my husband and 3 amazing children, checking off my must-try desserts bucket list, participating in fitness adventures and growing an edible garden. I also love creating digital images, photography and graphic design. People who love ice cream are my people and tacos always make my day better.

COMMUNICATIONS: I do my best to respond to inquiries and questions at the soonest possible time. All communications are done within the Outschool platform. Please know that I am also unable to send emails outside the Outschool platform. Do check both your conversations tab and your learners.  Kindly allow 2-3 business days for a response. Thank you! 

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS:
Per Outschool's limited refund policy: "Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class." 

**Please ensure the time when signing up for the classes offered. I try to offer classes at various times of the day to accommodate most time zones and unfortunately sometimes cannot refill a spot last minute if  that the time of day was mistaken or the class was missed. This is a non-refundable policy.

For one-time classes:
If within the week, you realize you won't be able to make class, please submit a transfer request from the classroom **at least 24 hours** in advance. This ensures another student who would like to take the class has enough time to see a spot has become available. I would love to support your child's success in the classes I offer. Out of respect to the other learners in the class, please ensure that you have access to the required materials before enrolling and arrive to class on time with supplies and ingredients ready. I am happy to review your options with you.

The class times listed are approximate. Class lengths will vary based on students ability and the number of enrolled learners.  All my classes are inclusive, all abilities are welcome. If your learner needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure that they have the best possible class experience.

*Please test Zoom before class.  Per Outschool policy and safety, I  require a visual check-in at the beginning of classes. Please enter classroom with screen on, so I can meet you! Learners are not allowed to continue in my class without this first visual face to face confirmation. I like to be fully present with students as soon as we begin class, and do not access my conversations or classroom comments on Outschool after the class has already started. SCHEDULE/CLASS REQUESTS:
I will usually have scheduled times available for each class within the next 4-6 weeks to continuously offer different times. Beyond 6 weeks are based on parent requests. You are welcome to submit a request for other times, and I will do my best to accommodate your learner's schedule. I am open to private parties/classes as well, contact me for details.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
If a class has not met the minimum number of enrollments listed, it is subject to being canceled. I will send a message asking if you'd like a transfer to another date & time or full refund if the class is canceled. Automatic refunds are issued for no responses after original class start time.

I follow Outschool's policy for no-shows. If no learners are present within the first 10 minutes of class, class will be canceled and learners will be invited to sign up for a new section.
