In this one time class students will write letters to Santa... with a twist. Students will not just focus on themselves on their list, students will also be asked to include what they think their family members and friends want for Christmas as well. The goal for this class is for learners to not only have fun but to learn about the importance of giving. We will talk about why giving is so important, in a fun way. Students are encouraged to write their letters but it is completely acceptable for them to draw instead. *** I ask that learners bring an envelope to class as well. I will be teaching learners how to address an envelope with their name and Santa's address. If you don't have an envelope, please do not go out to buy one. They can draw an envelope and use that as an example until they can get one*** To add more fun to the class we will play fun games and listen to Christmas music. Learners will have an opportunity to interact with me and their new friends for the entire class. My teaching style is laid back and learner focused. I try very hard to pay attention to learner's needs and will have no problem changing activities to fit learners needs. What games will be played and how will they be chosen? I have a wheel with 15-20 games listed on it. I will spin the wheel and whatever it lands on will be the game that we play for the moment. We will do that several times throughout class. Examples of games that will be played: Would you rather I Spy Christmas Scavenger Hunt 123 Santa **** If you have any questions or concerns about any of my classes, please feel free to send a message to me.*** I have a strict NO BULLYING rule. I think that it is extremely important for learners to have a safe space free from bullying and judgment. I expect learners to respect each other and be kind to their classmates at all times. I will not tolerate bullying in any form. However, I will give students a chance to correct their behavior. Below is a list of steps that I will take when unkind behavior is witnessed or heard. 1. Warning, Ex: I will remind the student that in my class, we must be kind to each other at all times. 2. I will put the student in the waiting room or a break out room and send a message or speak to them emphasizing the importance of being kind and warn that the next time that I have to speak to him/her/them, I will have to remove him/her/them. I will then, allow them to return to class and give a chance to change the behavior. 3. Removal from class ( there will be no refund or transfer to another class). A message will be sent to parents detailing the behavior witnessed or heard.
