Students will be encouraged to keep a journal to help them express their feelings and develop great writing skills. The class will include many prompts for students to choose from each day as they develop a habit of writing things down and turning it in to the teacher for corrections in writing. With videos that are pre-recorded, the student will receive instruction each week about what to do and examples of how to proceed with writing. Please remember that this is a FLEX class and it does...
Students will learn how to think deeper and wider in order to answer the prompts. Students will learn how to receive constructive criticism. Students will learn different points of view on a picture or video they will look at. Students will learn how to narrate a story. Students will learn how to talk about their observations. Students will develop a better-detailed outlook on an idea.
I have a Bachelor's in Spanish education and working on my master's degree in English Education ( I have 3 more classes to finish). I have tutored many students for English and have taught English for over 10 years in private schools, for ESL students, and for my community.
Students will complete these writing assignments a week: 1. Collaborative writing story with the other classmates. 2. Learn and complete two of the writing techniques listed above in their journal. 3. Students will create 5 journals a week.
Free subscriptions to: Adobe Spark Google.com so that you have access to Google Docs and Google Slides.
The teacher will require for the students to use Google Docs to share their writing activities and journals to be corrected and returned.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Depending on how much writing the student would like to do, the time needed varies. The students should write their own work, and the work read by the teacher will not be shared with the class, unless the student allows this. For some assignments, Google Slides or Adobe Spark is used. Students will be asked to share with the class at least 2 of these assignments.
