Every Christmas Eve the small village of Sutherland spends the night in terror. That's because every year a terrifying monster swoops down from the mountains on Christmas Eve and attacks. Instead of leaving presents, he makes off with villagers! But this year will be different! There are some adventurers who are staying in the local inn. Maybe they can protect the village and follow the evil creature back to its lair to stop the yearly raids once and for all! Class one: The heroes stop for the night in Sutherland while the halflings of the town decorate for Christmas. However, there is a feeling of unease instead of joy. The heroes learn the reason for the unease when they see a figure flying through the skies heading to a house on the outskirts of town. Class two: The heroes arrive at the homestead just in time to see a creature crawl up the chimney and into his sleigh. He heads northwards towards the mountain. Inside the heroes discover that the family has been kidnapped! The heroes head towards the mountain, battling the creature's guards along the way. Class three: After defeating the guards, the heroes must gain entrance to the creature's lair. Once inside the characters make a discovery about the families that have been kidnapped over the years. Class four: The heroes push further into the lair, encountering more of the guards as they search for the creature. Class five: Finally the creature is revealed! The heroes must either battle the creature and his minions or convince them to stop their yearly raids on Sutherland! This is a week long D&D camp for learners of all experience levels. This camp is a great introduction to Dungeons & Dragons for new learners, and a great winter break camp for learners looking for an activity during the holidays! Experience isn't necessary! All levels of skill and experience are welcome! During this week long camp, learners will select a pre-generated Dungeons & Dragons character to defend the village of Sutherland from a raid by one of the most terrifying monsters in D&D. The group will then track the monster to its lair to make sure the raids do not happen again. Role playing games are excellent ways to work on math and reading skills. They can also help strengthen team work, creative problem solving, leadership, and communication skills. Of course, it is a great way to stimulate creativity and imagination!

Hi, I'm Ed!
I'm so happy to be teaching on Outschool!
I'm a professional puppeteer, a gamer, and a home school dad!
During my career as a puppeteer I've performed with the Muppets, the Jim Henson Company, and Sesame Street among others. I've been a puppeteer on feature films, tv shows, and videos throughout my 30+ year career. I have toured internationally with Walking with Dinosaurs-the Arena Spectacular for the past 11 years. Currently I own a company that tours throughout the Southeast.
As a home school dad I helped teach my son his entire school career.
I'm a huge fan of games, especially role-playing games! Playing a role playing game can improve skills like math, reading, comprehension, team work, and creative problem solving.
Students learn better when they are in an environment where they want to learn. Using puppetry and games, I've been able to educate students of all ages on a variety of topics. In fact, puppetry and games can be used to teach any subject under the sun!
