D&D Battle Royale PvP w/ DM Jingleheimer
What's included
1 live meeting
2 in-class hours per weekHomework
I don't normally assign homework, but players are highly encouraged to work on their characters for upcoming battles in their off-time.Assessment
This class is more for fun, but it does encourage many challenging thoughts that often play out as a developing factor in life. Problem solving, creative thinking, teamwork, and morals & ethics are some examples that come to mind right away.Class Experience
⭐ If you are new to Outschool, use code 𝗝𝗔𝗬𝗝𝗔𝗖𝗢𝟮𝟬 to save $20! (Can be used on any class on Outschool) ⭐ This Dungeons & Dragons class is all about creating characters to challenge yourself as much as others. We will build characters based on a theme and try them out in creative arenas. Each session is loaded with new scenarios to get involved with. Such as: in one challenge, we will design level 15 wizards who must survive against the other players and still avoid lava traps and fire elementals. Another would be to create level 10 combatants who can only use archery to win the challenge. Another is purely for fun, slap fighting and monster royale! We even pick through the monster manual and battle monsters against each other. Sportsmanship is the #1 priority. Since there isn't a storyline, students won't need previous weeks' knowledge to be able to join in the fun.
Learning Goals
Students will get to pick up on social cues, learn good sportsmanship, experience team building exercises, develop critical thinking skills, gain math and reading comprehension, engage in moral and ethics discussions, receive creative story building and character creation experience, create in-game and real life bonds and friendships, and more.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Dungeons & Dragons is a roleplaying game that involves players defeating monsters and villains using imaginary swords, axes, hammers, bows and magic. The violence involved is imaginary. The use of alcohol is a trope in this game, but not actually a key aspect - for example, the players will sometimes meet in a tavern to receive quests.
There are monsters such as witches and devils in Dungeons & Dragons. Players will sometimes run across these creatures in their games, but they aren't intended to be worshiped or idolized - they are often written into the story with the expressed intention that they be defeated.
Supply List
The only thing I recommend for students is a computer with a mouse and either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for their web browsers. I provide everything else the student needs.
