Class Experience

Huzzah Adventurers! Tis I, Professor Wigglebottom Again! This time with the much requested opportunity to not only learn how to play, but to actually participate in One Shot Adventures! This class is intended for those that have at least a BASIC understanding of how to play D&D, but you don't have to have tons of experience! If you have done any introduction class, you are ready for this one. The joy of Adventurers League is that all are welcome regardless of experience and skill. It is an amazing place to learn to play like the experts. Adventurers League is designed as a way to get more experience, hone your craft, learn to Role Play better, and much, much, more! This culture of learning to become a better player is exactly why Adventurers League is perfect for Outschool.

Adventurers League is the official format of play for Dungeons & Dragons created by Wizards of the Coast. Each week we will be playing a different “one shot adventure” or a chapter in a hard cover adventure. Each player will bring an 1st level (or other AL legal) character to play. There are some specific rules when generating a character that I have linked in the intro post! Once you sign up, don’t hesitate to message me about how to make sure your character is AL legal and ready to go! To sync up with the typical style of play for Adventurers League, this class will be done in the “ongoing” format where you can continue your subscription from week to week, playing in a different adventure every every session (or every other session). We must have a minimum of 3 players with a maximum of 7.

If you are looking for classes in how to create a character or to learn the basics of how to play D&D, be sure to see my other classes!

Parental Guidance
One of the three pillars of D&D is Combat. There will be battles and death, but all in high fantasy. We keep every description of situations to a low PG rating. We also discuss “safety tools” that any student can use if a description or situation becomes uncomfortable, we can use a “veil” to fade to the next scene. This ensures that we are keeping everything fun and exciting for everyone. D&D is inclusive to everyone from all walks of life.
Supply List
Be sure to print out the three documents, Players Guide, Character Sheet, & AL Logsheet.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a lifelong learner and I hope I can pass that on to your student, so their life can be enriched by the power of learning! My motto as a teacher is to always teach the class that I would want to take as a student. :)

I have been a teacher in San Diego County for 25+ years for Charter School and home school students. I teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Human Anatomy, and much, much more! I work with Middle School and High School age students. I own and run a learning center in my home town that has been serving students for over 15 years. I am an approved vendors and considered an subject area expert for multiple charter schools in CA. I use creative methods to engage the students mind to learn through interesting and exciting thematic learning (Edu-LARP). I believe that we can cover the standards, but in a way that makes it memorable and makes connections to their own life and the world around them.

I am also a professional Dungeon Master and have been teaching people to play D&D for many, many years. D&D is one of the best table top role playing games you could ever learn. Through the medium of the “joint storytelling”, we can explore new worlds, be ultra creative using teamwork in problem solving, and learn how to be more effective in social situations. As the an individual who was incredibly awkward and shy, D&D helped me learn to think creatively and manage my emotions. It can be one of the greatest adventures your student might ever take.

In addition, I have been a profession ballroom and Latin dancer for almost 30 years. This makes every academic, as well as extracurricular class, exciting and filled with fun. There should never be a dull moment in one of my classes.
