The vile black dragon of the shadow swamp has left his lair to ravage the nearby countryside. Any dragon's hoard is a vast treasure trove, but this particular dragon is said to hold powerful unique magic items. While the dragon is away, the time to loot the lair is now! The dragon will have left some traps and guards, but nothing a mighty band of adventurer's cant handle, right? This is a week long D&D summer camp for learners 11-16. Learners will use the D&D 5e rules to go on an adventure filled with vile, warped monsters and devious traps! No previous experience is necessary! We will teach all the rules needed during class. If you've always been curious about Dungeons & Dragons, this is an opportunity to have a small taste of this imaginative world. Role playing games are excellent vehicles for both curriculum based and soft skills. Learners will have the chance to use the following skills in class: planning, leadership skills, organizational skills, project management, decision making, situation analysis, storytelling, writing, reading, and math among others. Learners will be given the option of several pre-generated characters to choose from.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Ed!
I'm so happy to be teaching on Outschool!
I'm a professional puppeteer, a gamer, and a home school dad!
During my career as a puppeteer I've performed with the Muppets, the Jim Henson Company, and Sesame Street among others. I've been a puppeteer on feature films, tv shows, and videos throughout my 30+ year career. I have toured internationally with Walking with Dinosaurs-the Arena Spectacular for the past 11 years. Currently I own a company that tours throughout the Southeast.
As a home school dad I helped teach my son his entire school career.
I'm a huge fan of games, especially role-playing games! Playing a role playing game can improve skills like math, reading, comprehension, team work, and creative problem solving.
Students learn better when they are in an environment where they want to learn. Using puppetry and games, I've been able to educate students of all ages on a variety of topics. In fact, puppetry and games can be used to teach any subject under the sun!
